Registering an account on AmILiked
* display full nameif set to YES your full name will be visible to other users of the AmILiked community.
If you decide to set this option to NO, only your first name and the first letter of your last name will be displayed. There is one exception: The notification of your registration that other users in your area will receive, will contain the full name (for identification purposes).
You can change this setting at any time after the registration.
How can you claim your item on AmILiked?
This section will describe what to do if you see an item about you or about something you manage (company, restaurant, hotel, city, etc).
Step 1) Create and activate an account on AmILiked (http://www.amiliked.com/user?a=register)
Step 2) Click the "is this you? - Claim item here" - button
There are several possible methods for claiming an item.
- If the e-mail address you used to sign up for AmILiked was provided by the item creator, your item(s) will be claimed automatically after you activate your account (either through a Facebook account or by activating your account using the link provided in your welcome e-mail)!
- If your e-mail address does NOT match the address provided for the item (either because the item creator did not provide an e-mail address or has provided an e-mail address that you do not manage) but the item DOES contain a link to a social network url (facebook, twitter, myspace, etc) or website that you maintain, you will be forwarded to a “claim item form” containing instructions for the various options.
Keep in mind that upon signing up and activating an AmILiked account, an item will automatically be created and entered into the system under the name you used to register. Now other users will be able to see your profile and file reviews. If you should end up claiming an existing person-item after registration, the item that was created after activation will be merged with the previous item.
If none of the above methods are available to you, please use the item claim request form.
What information should I initially provide within the item claim request form?
In order for us to verify that you have the right to claim an item, it is important for us to receive crucial information that can tie the item to you. In most cases it is more than sufficient to provide a simple link(s) to a profile page (facebook, myspace, twitter, etc) that contains your name and a small temporary reference to your AmILiked account (in order for us to verify that you actually control this profile page). If you do not have a profile page, there are plenty of other methods available (of which we will inform you upon receiving your claim request).
Please note that none of the information you provide us will be used for any other purpose than verifying your claim.
What can I do once I claim an item?
Once you claim your item(s) you are able to modify the contents of this item: background information, location, social networking urls, picture, category, etc.
- You can also reply to any of the reviews
- You can create a self-review, which will appear at the top of all reviews. This is a good way to balance any other reviews and show other visitors how you view your own item. When you create a self-review, your name will show up next to your review (you can not do an anonymous self-review).
Like or Dislike an item
Next to reviewing an item, you can also choose to "Like" or "Dislike" an item. Logged in users can like or dislike any item on AmILiked. If you are not logged in (Guest mode), you can only "Like" or "Dislike" well known items. (celebrities, big companies, cities etc). You can "Like" or "Dislike" an item once every week. Based on actions of the item, you can choose to "Like" or "Dislike" the item a week later.
